ASPIRE director Chris Lippitt was named chair of the Remote Sensing Specialty Group (RSSG) of the American Association of Geographers (AAG). The AAG is the largest and most prestigious professional society for geographers in the United States, with broad global reach. The RSSG is the third-largest specialty group within the AAG, networking professionals in industry, academia, and government working on remote sensing topics. The RSSG also promotes student research through awards and scholarships.
