Bio:

I am a geographer in GIS and health/medical geography with a research focus on the development of GIS and spatial analysis methods as well as their applications to gain a better understanding of relationships between human health, society, and the environment. My research in GIS engages broadly in spatial analysis and modeling, and particularly spatial accessibility modeling, air pollution exposure modeling, and web-based spatial demographic research. My research in health/medical geography is focused on cancer disparities and environmental spatial epidemiology. A large portion of my health/medical geography research is on cancer disparities to develop methods to identify geographic areas with cancer disparities, examine the role of geographic information and technology in cancer disparity reduction, and to develop evidence-based geographic intervention programs to reduce cancer disparities. My research in environmental spatial epidemiology is concerned with exposure and risk assessment of air/water pollution and how they are associated with adverse health outcomes.
