We want to welcome Marisa Repasch to ASPIRE and congratulate her on being an ASPIRE faculty member! Marisa is a faculty member of the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences. She joined UNM as an assistant professor in the Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences in January 2024. Her research and teaching focus on Earth's surface processes, including fluvial geomorphology, hydrology, and erosional processes. She utilizes remote sensing techniques in both her teaching and research, including GIS-based landscape analyses, satellite-based and UAV-based remote sensing of river channel morphodynamics, sediment transport, and hillslope erosion, geophones to remotely monitor river ice breakup and sediment transport in ice-affected rivers, and RTK-GPS surveying for high-precision slope analyses.
